EMDR INTENSIVES
AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH FOR YOUR TRAUMA HEALING
EMDR is a transformative therapy and the intensive format of this therapy can provide accelerated relief from trauma symptoms.
EMDR intensives are short term extended EMDR therapy sessions with the goal of reducing distressing symptoms in a rapid format. An intensive includes a digital workbook, assessment, intensive therapy session lasting 3-6 hours per day, and a post-intensive follow up.

Flexibility
Intensives offer an opportunity for people who do not have the time to meet for weekly sessions over several months.

Insurance does not currently cover the cost of intensives.
Some insurances may reimburse for the first hour of services, although this is not guaranteed and can vary from plan to plan.
Since insurance can be confusing and all plans are different, I can discuss specific benefit questions and options on an individual basis.
Clients are responsible for the full payment and reimbursement from their insurance is not guaranteed.
-
$250 deposit is due in order to confirm your spot and is non-refundable.
The remaining balance is due on the first day of the intensive.
1 week advanced notice is required for cancellations or to reschedule the intensive.
If you reschedule your intensive at least one week before the first day of the intensive the $250 deposit can be applied towards the rescheduled intensive.
Insurance does not cover or reimburse cancellation fees and clients are responsible for the cancellation fee.
-
Due to many different factors including complexity of traumas there is no guarantee that the target will be completely processed in a single intensive. Some may be able to fully process targets and others may require additional intensives.
-
Intensives may not be appropriate for all clients or require additional support of a traditional talk therapist. Clients with extensive and complex trauma may benefit from additional support of a talk therapist in place for both preparation of intensive trauma work and as a follow up for after the intensive.
Free 15 minute phone consultation to see if an intensive would be a good fit.

Intensive application of trauma-focused therapy seems to be well tolerated in patients with PTSD, enabling faster symptom reduction with similar, or even better, results, while reducing the risk that patients drop out prematurely. Learn more here and here.
Intensive EMDR treatment is feasible and is indicative of reliable improvement in PTSD symptoms in a very short time frame. Learn more here.
An intensive program using EMDR therapy is a potentially safe and effective treatment alternative for complex PTSD. Learn more here.
The economy is compelling: even compared to other trauma therapy, the intensive format may decrease treatment time, because of time not spent on a) checking in at the beginning of each session, b) addressing current crises and concerns, c) focusing on stabilizing and coping skills that the client won’t need after trauma healing, or d) assisting the client in regaining composure at the end of the session.
